Bill is quoted in the Los Angeles Times
On January 18, 2004, one of Bill Ellis's columns was quoted extensively in an article that appeared in the Los Angeles Times.

Best Lifestyle Columnist Award
In the WEST VIRGINIA PRESS ASSOCIATION, 2003 Better Newspaper Contest, a FIRST PLACE was awarded
to Bill Ellis as a "Best Lifestyle Columnist". The judges referred to his work as "Great narrative
style of column writing."
Other Awards and Recognitions
- Was named "Rotarian Of The Year" in Southern West Virginia, District 7550, 1998-1999.
- Served two consecutive terms, total of six years, as President of the Alumni Association of Anderson University.
- Was awarded an Honorary Doctors Degree from Anderson University, Anderson, Indiana.
- Has received numerous civic and professional awards throughout his career.
- Has had the honor of speaking to many state, national and international conventions and conferences for a wide variety
of sporting events, civic organizations, youth conventions and church meetings.
